PATTERN DETAILS

This is a tutorial explaining how to change a pair of skinny leg jeans into trumpet leg jeans, It can also be followed to make really wide flares, too. After many years of wearing straight cut jeans, which made my legs look short and dumpy (they are, but everyone doesn't need to know it!) at the turn of the millennium I discovered trumpet leg jeans, which made my legs look great. Unfortunately after a couple of years I could no longer buy them. I recently found some panelled trumpet trousers online, but they were about 70GBP! When I was given a pair of skinny leg jeans I decided to make my own. You will need 1 pair of Skinny leg jeans Fabric to make the panel that is going to make the flared part. Strip of fabric up to about 4 inches wide, for the bottom of the panel Seam ripper Pins Scissors Measuring tape or ruler Sewing Machine. (you can sew it by hand if you need to, but it will take a lot longer) About 3 hours (beginners may need longer) I still think of myself as a beginner (but I am probably more intermediate, or even advanced), so I would say it is suitable for a Beginner project, because in my opinion there is only one part that is difficult, and that only needs time, concentration and calm. This is made with straight line and straight stitch sewing. Nothing fancy, but a great result! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Seam ripping Straight sewing using pins
