These baby bonnets are so sweet and easy to make! One can be made in under an hour. Bonnet has three styles - girls simple bonnet with piping, boys hat with small front brim and girls bonnet with folded brim and lace. The simple girls bonnet and boys hat are reversible. Light to medium weight cotton fabric is used for the outside of the bonnets and the lining. No gathering is necessary. The back has a simple pleat. 3/8" to 5/8" ribbon is needed for ties. ADDITIONAL OPTIONS FOR FINISHING BONNETS - adding lace instead of piping to simple bonnet, or adding piping to folded brim in place of lace. I used the same fabric for the outside and lining on the bonnet with the folded brim (pictured above on right). If you use a different fabric for the lining of that bonnet, it will show on the folded front edge for a different look (see photo at bottom of last page).
