Last winter I took part in a blog hop in which I was to create a cartoonish image of myself for the applique block. I created a purse from my block. It was so much fun and I get so many comments on my purse. I cannot go anywhere where someone does not point out my purse to a friend or spouse with them and some even start converstations in the store with me. It gives me so much pleasure I just wanted to share. I love designing purses and ideas keep coming to me. Right now, on my drafting table are three more purses which are modification of this same design. They are just waiting for me to complete the written instructions for the patterns then they will be part of my collection of designs. The purse featured here is a modification of the purse I created last winter. This is a great purse to get your feet wet with just a touch of applique, a touch of embroidery work but the real charmer for this purse is the silk flower redone. There are several fun features to make this purse charming with every turn of the bag. Diagonal pockets are both functional and decorative. Under the flap is a hidden pocket that is the full width of the purse and deep enough to hold a magazine, a book or a tablet. Inside the purse a key clasp is conveniently at hand to hold your keys out of way. No more fishing for keys in the bottom of the purse. To top it off you will never have ripped lining in the bottom of this purse because the lining and purse are sewn together as the bag is assembled. Fun design, Fun construction.
