Fat Quarter Friendly! Oh-so-sweet and simple to make for the novice stitcher, and a basic pattern for the expert to embellish! Picture a little girl carrying this small pouch when she's all dressed up! Or make it into a BIG girl handbag by just changing out the fabric to a damask or satin and sewing on rhinestone buttons! You can make it in no time at all. In fact, make several of these sweet little bags! And no turning for the strap with my easy method that's also attached with buttons to make it go faster yet. Add some of those vintage buttons you've been collecting, or some artsy new buttons. I include easy instructions for embroidering the stem stitch, or use a machine stitch if you prefer. I have my posies pouch hanging on a doorknob with silk flowers in it as a home dcor item...a perfect spring door decoration, too! Also makes a pretty carryall for your camera or cell phone. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 7.5" wide x 9" high; strap is 14" long and has an approximate 7" drop

Supplies Needed

  • Just 2 Fat Quarters (if your fabric is directional or you want to fussy cut, you may need more yardage), fusible or non-fusible batting, 9 large buttons, ribbon, ruffled lace, embroidery thread, disappearing ink marker, and basic sewing supplies such as: sewing machine, ruler, cutting mat, rotary cutter, scissors, thread, iron, etc.
