This pattern is perfect for anyone who is new to sewing, and would like to learn basic zakka sewing techniques while making something pretty and useful - a fluffy double gauze mini towel with a hanging tab, wrapped in a beautiful lined drawstring gift bag. Great value, too, because there are two projects in one pattern! Learn the very basics of sewing while making a mini towel, and then move on to the more challenging (but only slightly more!) lined drawstring bag. You can easily complete the two projects in one afternoon. You don't have to use double gauze of course to take advantage of these patterns. Any lightweight woven fabric will do. But if you are curious about double gauze, I encourage you to find some on the net and give it a try - I know you'll love the fabric. The pattern has a section on how to work with double gauze - with lots of useful tips on cutting and sewing the material. The PDF pattern features in-depth instructions with many large, clear photos, so even a near-total beginner can follow them with ease. The pattern comes in a computer and tablet-friendly landscape format, and all measurements are indicated in imperial AND metric. The finished size for the mini towel is about 7.5" (19cm) square. The finished size for the drawstring gift bag is about 7" wide x 7.5" high (18cm x 19cm). It's easy to make a bigger or smaller items though - just cut the materials to the size you like! I've had this pattern tested by 5 lovely volunteers, 2 of whom were near complete beginners. Both of them were able to make the items on their own, following the pattern, with no help from me at all - so you can do it, too! Once you learn how to make these two items, the possibility of other items you can make on your own, using the same method, is endless. Think baby blankets, washers, handkerchiefs, coasters, placemats, laundry bags, lavender sachets, large drawstring bag for school or daycare items.... I know you'll love this pattern. :) BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Set up your sewing machine and stitch a straight line. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Mini towel will be about 7.5" square Drawstring bag will be about 7" wide x 7.5" high But it's very easy to modify the sizes to your liking.

I also love using organic fabrics as much as possible, and to make eco-friendly products such as wet bags and reusable lunch bags. My website is here: My shop on Etsy is here: I live in Sydney, Australia, with my 5-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy, along with a lovely partner, a couple of chickens and a stray rabbit. I am passionate about sewing, and I love to teach beginners how to sew. I had a zakka sewing class at my home last year, and this year, I'm writing beginner-friendly patterns and instructions for some of my popular zakka items. So stay tuned!
