PATTERN DETAILS

So, we were planning a family vacation to northern Michigan, including a day trip to Macinac Island where there are many quaint shops for buying trinkets and souvenirs, when I realized that the girls would be carrying their own shopping money with them. I don't know about you, but carrying pocket money for four girls and keeping track of what belongs to whom is not my favorite thing to do. So, I created this Mini Messenger for them. It's the perfect size for a little wallet and some lip gloss and maybe an iPod or whatever a tween girl needs. It slings over the shoulder so you don't have to worry about them setting it down somewhere. They were a hit. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY The basics - thread your machine, use your rotary cutter or scissors, follow directions SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Girl sized: 5.5"w x 7"t with strap 27" from shoulder to bag Doll sized: 2.5"w x 3.5"t with strap 14" from shoulder to bag

Hi all! My name is Cindy Wright. I am the owner, designer, sewer, gopher, janitor, bookkeeper and everything else for Schoolhouse Patterns. Schoolhouse Patterns is a sewing pattern design company dedicated to creating sewing patterns that make pretty, simple, and useful items. I love to sew and love it best when I make something that fills a need. I’m usually not interested in making things that take days (probably why I don’t quilt more), but like a quick project. I want my patterns to fit that description as well. I am the wife to one fabulous man, mother to four amazing girls, and live in a little town in Indiana. I'm on Facebook, @schoolhousepatterns, Twitter, @shpatterns, Pinterest, @schoolhousepatterns and have a sorely neglected blog, schoolhousepatterns.com.
