Pattern Details

I designed this wallet when I saw my granddaughter carrying a small zipper bag with her drivers' license visible at all times. I thought right away that this was not acceptable and she needed something better. I asked her if she would like for me to make her something new and she asked me if I could make it in black. Well of course I can. Hers is pictured on the front of the pattern. (It's the black on with the monogram.) This little wallet is fun to make and more fun to use! It's easy to carry and has all you need to take with you for busy people on the go. On the outside, the flap covers a vinyl ID pocket so you don't have to show anything else in your wallet and it's easy to access but still private. On the opposite side is a coin pocket for easy access to change. On the inside, one side has a cash pocket and the other side has 3 card pockets (but it will hold more than 3 cards.) Lots of room for an accessory so small. The ID pocket flap cover is just ripe for all kinds of embellishment. Use applique, embroidery, piecing, couching, big stitch quilting, crystals, triple stitching, monogram, it's only limit is your creativity and imagination. Personalize it for the recipient or yourself. The whole project only takes a fat quarter! So it's a fun project to give away! You'll want to make more after you get that first one done. This is NOT a beginner project. The instructions also include optional instructions to add RFID fabric to protect your credit cards.

Recommended with this pattern

  • 1 fat quarter (or scraps if you want to piece it) or 1/4 yard of fabric
  • One 7" #3 nylon zipper
  • 3 sets of snaps of snaps or Velcro pieces

My name is Martha Sheriff. Some of you may know me through my affiliation with OESD through 2008. I'm a professional embroiderer and a pattern designer. I believe my patterns are innovative and may have a little different concept of construction. However, those who have used my patterns know that the instructions are very well written and easy to understand. I will be glad to help if there is ever a problem but I like to make sure my patterns go through extensive testing before they are published.
