Sometimes I want to tuck my iPad Mini or eReader or other small tablet into my purse or briefcase with as little extra bulk as possible. I hate to have it floating around loose, even with a smart cover, my tablet likes a little padding for protection. This stylish clutch is super simple to construct and you don't have to insert a zipper. The pattern includes 2 flap styles: Scalloped, and Envelope style. You also have 3 closure methods to choose from: ribbon tie, snap or Velcro. Want to use a shouder strap? The pattern will show you how to add hidden rings to carry the clutch on your shoulder when desired, but the strap can be removed when you only want the cover with the least amount of bulk and fuss (who wants a shoulder strap tangling with their purse contents?) Make the design your own, with just the options you want. Try this quick and easy pattern for gifts, to sell on Etsy, or just to make your tablet the cutest one at the coffee shop! ================================== Patterns by Gaila Designs ================================== This detailed pattern will take you step-by-step through the construction of the cover. Every step is described and a full color photograph is provided to illustrate the step. No assuptions of skill are made (other than operating your sewing machine!) and each step is brief and logically stated in large print. I have been sewing for interiors for over 20 years and have attended numerous classes, seminars and other instructional venues. I hope that sharing my experience with you in making beautiful items for your home will give you much pleasure and lessen frustration with trying to 'figure out' how to make an item without instructions. I also offer sewing tips and brief tutorials on my blog at www.gailadesigns.blogspot.com Questions or concerns about the pattern are welcome! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY There are no special skills or equipment needed. A straight stitch machine will do the trick! SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS This pattern is designed for the iPad Mini with a smart cover or no cover. Most small tablets, the smaller Kindles, and other small scale eReaders are smaller than the iPad mini and will fit just fine! Measure the width and height of your device (in the cover if that is how you want to store it). If it is taller than 8" or wider than 6", you should get the iPad "Grace" pattern to cover your tablet.
