This is a tutorial showing how to make the double 32oz growler tote. There are 11 pages to this tutorial and many pictures that I took when I was actually making this tote. One page of this tutorial explains how to collect, clean, and process the recycled materials to make this tote. I also list some of my suppliers for items I use. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY basic sewing skills using a sewing machine

Recommended with this pattern

  • 1 Grain bag from your favorite local brewery, most will be glad to save the bags for you to recycle. You could make some for the growlers that they sell and see if they will carry your product in their gift shop. 2 large silver coffee bags from your favorite Starbucks, they should be glad to save the bags for you to recycle when you explain to them you are helping keep them out of landfill and making upcycled items. You may also want to get some of the pretty ones and make totes from them too. I have patterns for those also. Check out my Craftsy Pattern Shop. http://www.craftsy.com/user/1895636/pattern-store 1 large spool of mercerized cotton quilting thread, I use off white for most all of these but I have used black before and it looks good too. About 2 yards of cotton twill strapping or cut some jeans or other material for core of handles.

I enjoy learning and sharing knowledge about handcrafting and sustainable living. I up-cycle materials to promote awareness for recycling . This is my hobby and all proceeds go to pay costs for my recycling and education efforts, plus for foster care and adoption of pets in need of help. Join me or start your own upcycle group in your town to recycle, reuse, re-purpose, and educate others. I also have tutorials showing how to salvage material such as coffee bags, feed bags, then layout, and sew the material into useful items such as carryall shopping market totes and handbags. #sewing #recycle #upcycle #craftsy #totes #shopping #gifts #weavinglooms #fiberarts #tutorials #classes
