While teaching my Book Lovers Block of the month class, I came up with this extra project as a way to use fat quarters. I made aprons for all my grandchildren. They are so useful, quick and fun! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Basic sewing and sewing machine skills are needed. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS This pattern can be adusted to fit most children.

Recommended with this pattern

  • You will need 2 fat quarters to complete the apron. You may use d-rings for the straps, but they are not necessary.
  • You'll need a sewing machine, scissors and a button. A gathering foot is helpful but not essential.
  • Buttons, ric-rac, thread as desired.

Making things brings me great joy! My love for quilting permeated my first novel, Solomon's Puzzle, with a loveable quilt shop owner, a dream quilt shop and a quilt as part of the book's mystery. The book inspired a sampler quilt and other patterns. I love to encourage creativity.
