My name is Sarah Doyle. I learned how to sew at the age of 8 on my mother's treadle sewing machine and found a life long passion! I officially started my sewing and pattern making career in 1970 with a military assignment to Taiwan. After attending a year long pattern making class at a local Taiwanese school with the help of an English speaking Taiwanese lady and graduating from Cheing Mei Pattern Making School, I began writing my first book, "Sarah's Key To Pattern Drafting". Starting with just one book and a long list of people who wanted the book in 1976, I now have over 35 sewing, pattern making, pattern make-over, craft, quilting, embroidery, sewing machine repair and general how-to books and classes available, in addition to a line of clothing patterns for plus size children. I love designing patterns of all kinds, ranging from baby/toddler items to household items to clothing and everything in between. Sewing and pattern making have been a passion for me, and helping others to be able to find joy in getting their clothing to fit perfectly or make one of a kind gifts for that special person is my goal.
