PATTERN DETAILS

The Bring the Basics Bag is a very handy design, and it's quick and really fun to make! It came to be as really all my bags really where to heavy and warm to lug around in +40C temperatures here in Malta during the summer. Sometimes you need something small and convenient. The Bring the Basics Bag is just that, a small shoulder bag, clutch, wristlet or wallet, that will hold just the basic stuff you need to be able to leave the house. It has two separate cellphone pockets (holds up to 2 cellphones, 6" long), card slots, bill slot and a zipper pocket for coins and keys. The pattern has 28 color photos, one for each step - so it's really more of a tutorial then a pattern - which should make it easy to follow even for a bag making novice with just basic sewing skills! As I've had some questions about the folding of the card holder (Step 3-4), I've made a little video to help explain it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbBhkx6f07o BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY The pattern has 28 color photos showing every step of making the bag but basic sewing skills is probably good, also knowing how to sew a zipper, or be willing to learn =) SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Finished bag is 6 x 4 inches big.

Recommended with this pattern

  • (1) 6 x 11 inches Peltex (or other thicker very stable interfacing like Fast 2 Fuse or heavy Vildona).
  • (1) 6 1/2 inch long Zipper.
  • (1) Fat Quarter (18x22 inches) Lining Fabric.
