As a quilter, I had a ton of cut-off selvages that I just couldn't bear to throw away. This project used a lot of them up! If you love old denim, selvages, and upcycling, you, too, will have a blast making these unique pillows. The two winding, maze-like, mostly improvisational designs are easy to construct, and the finished products also work beautifully as conversation piece wall-hangings or table-toppers, if you prefer. If you don't have a selvage stash, use strips from your scrap pile, or just cut a variety of narrow strips (1/4" - 1 1/2" inch). Everything goes with denim! Whatever you use, I guarantee you'll have fun! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY How to zig zag stitch on a sewing machine, use invisible thread, have basic quilt piecing skills (you can stitch a four-patch) SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS The 'Labyrinth' pillow will measure about 20" x 20" and 'Snails Trail' will measure about 18" x 18".
