Project

Wonky Pound Sign - Super Heroes

Project Description

What are you most proud of? That I finished, I learned new techniques, and I finished the binding on the 9 hour car trip to my daughters house. Most of all I'm proud I made my Grandson so happy! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Allow more time than you need, measure, cut and line up strips carefully, and, if it didn't line up, correct it! You may be sorry (as I am) you didn't take the extra time to do it right. This was a lot of work, I was to much in a hurry, and now it's not as nice as it could have been! Yes, the blocks are squared but the wonky pound sign is a little too wonky. Overall, I'm still very happy with it.

What you will need

  • I used 100% cotton throughout
  • quilting thread
  • half circle stencil & ruler for marking quilting pattern on the border and skirt of the quilt. I also made my own binding. My 5 year old grandson is now the envy of all his friends!

Q&A with Gwendolyn52

clairepur45073 asked:
Love this. What a great idea for a boy's room. (I have three grandsons.)
Gwendolyn52 answered:
Thank you, it is great in a boys room. My grandson, age 6, loves it. It has all his favorite heroes i.e. Iron Man, Spider Man, Bat Man, Super Man, Captain America, and many others. When he hears me tell people of all the characters, he always adds the ones I don't mention. So, he has them all memorized, too funny.
