whole cloth quilt with templates

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am proud that I tried templates and finished quilting my wall hanging. What advice would you give someone starting this project? TRY IT! The quilting took me some time, well a lot of time, but it was interesting and fun.

What you will need

  • sateen fabric
  • Glide thread for machine quilting
  • cotton and poly battings and Kimmy B's templates

Q&A with RLWest

Dena_Living Water Quilter asked:
Wonderful! What type and size needle did you use? Also, what weight is the thread? Again, great job using the templates. Thanks for sharing.
RLWest answered:
Thank you. I used Glide thread, a 40weight thread and a size 18 needle. The needle is larger than needed but my machine tension likes size 18 needle! lol!
Megan Byrne, Poet's Corner Quilts asked:
This is stunning. So much work and patience. Beautiful!
RLWest answered:
Thank you so very much for you comment. It was a lot of work but I have little to no patience! Ha!! I named my machine: Patience! (Patience was also my g. grandmother's name)
Mrs Hotwheels asked:
Lovely job, you must be proud of your self.
RLWest answered:
I see all the flaws but I am still a bit proud of myself that I finished it! Hubby is more proud of the quilt than I am but then he does not know or see the mistakes. lol!! thank you again
Oma2EZE asked:
Beautiful quilt. So much detail! You should be very proud of your work!
RLWest answered:
I am pleased that you like it. I am proud of the quilt and now I wish I had tried to make a it a little bit bigger, but it will look fine on the wall! thanks again.
JBlixt asked:
very beautiful quilt, great job!
RLWest answered:
Thank you! The quilt is now bound and waiting for a label! I see from you profile picture that you have a HQ machine also. I like my machine very much and she is getting better at reading my mind...just kidding. Thanks again for you kind comment.
