Wedding quilt #2

What are you most proud of? FMQ - this is something very new to me and the first time I have tried it on a full sized quilt. I am following Leah Day's Building Blocks Quilt Along and learning so much. One day I hope to be good enough to FMQ a quilt completely! I have now extended my FMQ skills and quilted the borders, red squares, flowers and bridal bouquet. I used Sulky holographic thread for the bride's dress detail and some other metallic threads in the bouquet. Loads of fun and I am completely over my fear of FMQ! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just go for it

You Can Make This

PaulineW made Wedding quilt #2 with:

  • Scraps and stash fabrics
  • batiks etc for the colour scheme I wanted and Hobbs Wool Wadding. Machine pieced and FMQ for all the ditch quilting and outlining of the appliqué with hand quilting in all the white areas
