Q&A with Artmomma

lteel1950@gmail.com asked:
Wow! Just tremendous! Couple questions...how much/what type of stabilizer; is the mermaids body stitched? How did you do the turtles? Looks like you had lots of fun!
Artmomma answered:
I used Decor Bond behind the blue background piece to stabilize it to do the stitching. When I made the two turtles and the mermaid I drew the images on white fabric, backed them with fusible fleece and colored them like Lola taught us. I then cut them out and sew them onto the blue piece.
bucklady asked:
awesome! Is this just a part of the completed piece or?
Artmomma answered:
I am going to make this into a large pillow with a ruffled edge.
Ife in Panama asked:
So fluid and beautiful. What part did you use thread art? Also, thanks for pointing me to Leah D. I downloaded her class and have already learned a great deal. This is the spirit CRAFTSY.
Artmomma answered:
The mermaid and the two turtles were created just like we learned in Thread Art. I just cut them out and used them as appliqu.
Mary Ed asked:
What a great piece! How did you do the fish? What a great combination of these super Craftsy classes.
Artmomma answered:
Mary the fish are painted with fabric pens.
