Uncle Ora's Work Shirts

What are you most proud of? Using the techniques that Peggy teaches in this class. I know I will continue to use these patterns and ideas in the years to come. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use fabrics you like, but be sure to plan ahead for border sizes and yardage required.

Peggy Martin asked:
Fabulous Sailor's Delight quilt!! I love that you used so very many different fabrics, but they all work together beautifully!! Actually, if your border doesn't exactly fit, that makes your quilt fit a time-honored traditional style - back in the day, many quilters would piece their borders and just cut them off to fit the quilt, even if it was in the middle of one of the points. They didn't always worry about all the "rules" we think matter so much today. Adding the buttons from your family button jar and the link to your uncle make this quilt extra special - what a wonderful memory quilt!
Mary F J answered:
Thank you for you input Peggy. This is a great class. When I assemble all my samples I will try the open weave sashing technique.
