Two girly quillows

Project Description

What are you most proud of? This is made with my old favourite - "Disappearing Nine-Patch" because it's quick and easy and is useful to showcase specific pictures. The two quillows are made for two baby girls, Poppy and Thilia (not related to each other) as surprise Christening presents.

What you will need

  • Pure cotton fabric
  • some from my stash and some purchased purposely
  • cotton thread and polyester wadding.

Q&A with patz in suffolk

Meredith K asked:
These are so cute! Where did you find the quillow pattern?
patz in suffolk answered:
The patchwork is just the standard, very simple "disappearing nine-patch" and there are several very good tutorials for it on You Tube. The instructions for making a quillow appear in many quilting books, but one of my projects (of a rather unattractive green and yellow quillow) gives some details of how to make it and fold it which I hope you might find helpful. I'm pleased you like these - thank you!
banjolady asked:

Thank you!

They are lovely. What a lovely christening present. Personal and will last them forever. A heirloom.
patz in suffolk answered:
I'm going to make labels for them so that they'll know where they came from and when, even when they're grown up. Thank you for your kind comments.
Absolutely lovely work Patz and like the new portrait Best wishes Geoff
patz in suffolk answered:
Thank you, Geoff! I'm off to Weymouth in a couple of weeks' time, so hope to get some interesting photos.
tomib asked:
great job Pat and I assume you did the quilting also? Nice Job
patz in suffolk answered:
Thank you. I'm afraid the quilting is only in (or just out of) the ditch plus a bit of outlining, so not very ambitious!
