Tumbler quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? It's hard to see in the picture, but the pieces came together so well that the top is almost perfectly flat.

What you will need

  • quilting weight cotton. I started with a fat quarter pack. Most of the fabrics were from a line called Frolic by Sandy Gervais for Moda. The finished size is about 40" x 40"

Graceeh asked:
Nice job! Especially love the colours and borders. What size is it? Thanks for sharing!
janegirl3 answered:
It's about 40" x 40"
socolisa asked:
Love the colors. Did your fabrics all come from a particular line? If not, can you tell me who the maker is of the two border fabrics?
janegirl3 answered:
Most of the fabrics came from a line called Frolic by Sandy Gervais for Moda. The two border fabrics are from that line. However, I made this a couple of years ago, so they may be hard to find now.
Zerlene Woodward asked:
what size are the tumbler template? How much yardage would it take to make a queen size? I luv yours but need a big one......Thank you so much!
janegirl3 answered:
The Tumbler pieces were cut using the 6 1/2" AccuQuilt Tumbler die. I started with a fat quarter pack, but I can no longer remember what the total yardage was. The finished size of this one is about 40" by 40". So, I guess you could assume each piece is cut from a 7" square piece of fabric. If you had one yard of fabric, you'd get 5 strips of 7" times WOF. From each strip, you could cut 5 tumblers. So, that's 25 6 1/2" tumblers per yard. You'd need to do the match from there according to how many fabrics you want to use and the finished size you need. Hope that helps!
