Trip Around The World

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am most proud that in quilting this small quilt, I did not mark the top, and neither did I use masking tape. I simply slowed down my quilting speed and tackled one square unit at a time. All the while I was quilting, I kept my eye on the opposite corner to where the needle started and found that the needle automatically travelled to my desired destination with little effort on my part. I finished all the quilting in a matter of 3 hours in one evening! I am also proud of the fact that I overcame my instinctive desire to 'quilt-in-the-ditch'! What advice would you give someone starting this project? With regard to the quilting of this piece, try to avoid focusing on the position of the needle. Instead, keep your eye on the destination and the rest will fall into place.

What you will need

  • 2-1/2 strip sets from 5 fat quarters that measured 2"x 22" each. These came out of my fabric stash.
