The Gift

Project Description

What are you most proud of? This is more of a "cover" than a quilt. Yes, the pieces are sewn together and if the intent is to make it a more traditional quilt, it certainly can be just that. I chose to make it more of a cover with minky fabric on the back and binding. I am most proud of choosing the fabrics to have meaning to the person that I gave this cover to as a gift, The one strip of puzzle-piece fabric is to represent Autism and to show that these special kids may seem out of place, but they complete the world. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you find the pattern for this quilt, I definitely would buy the pattern. I made it the size I wanted, but it didn't come out even on the vertical strips. If I would have allowed myself more time, I could have gotten it to be exact, but actually, for the occasion, it was great that it turned out a little wonky in places.
