Tanner and Family Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I think it turned out awesome and Tanner did too! What advice would you give someone starting this project? I just used the pictures and sewed frames around them. Easy, fun and a wonderful history of Tanner's family!

What you will need

  • Fabrics and ink-jet printing fabric.

I'm so glad I saw this project. I had just started laying out a pattern very similar for my Mom & Dad. I wanted to do a family tree quilt. Our family is quite large. This is just what I had in mind. By looking at your project it took a few kinks out of mine. Very nice project & great colors.
jclinton answered:
Thanks! Would love to see your family quilt!
Maroosh asked:
This is perfect. My son is in the Air Force and is being transferred to England very soon. I have a family picture quilt in mind to send them for Christmas. We have a very big family as well, and I know it will take quite a bit of time to set up and complete. What type of quilting did you do around the pictures?
jclinton answered:
I sewed the frames around the pictures and then stitched in the ditch between the pics and frames. Love to see your family quilt!!
Cara Michelle asked:
I have never seen this before, how creative, and very special for family memories.
jclinton answered:
Thank you. Tanner is my very special first granddaughter and it was a joy to make this for her.

how did you get the pic of fabric
jclinton answered:
For this quilt I ironed white fabric on shelf paper backing and put it through my printer. I have learned since that dark t-shirt transfers can make brighter pictures.
