Table Runner

Project Description

What are you most proud of? That I accomplished the Stitch-in-the Ditch -- a few places that my stitching didn't exactly stay in the ditch but for the most part I was very pleased with the outcome. What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is a super easy project for a beginner and goes together very quickly!

Q&A with DianneAffholter

Kimjo asked:
I love your table runner. I'm thinking of doing something similar with hexagons. How did you bind the quilt together?
DianneAffholter answered:
Batting goes down first, then your backing fabric, then the table top runner (right side down). You sew all around using a 1/4" stitch leaving about a 6-8 inch opening along one end. Trim and clip corners and turn inside out. I top-stitched all around the outside and then you do stitch-in-the-ditch between each of the blocks.
Tina Fay asked:
Really nice, what size squares did you use?
DianneAffholter answered:
5" squares
