Susan's Wedding Gift

Project Description

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The pattern itself it called 'the tube quilt' and I would not recommend doing this pattern unless you are an intermediately skilled quilter and are confident in the accuracy of your straight stitching and are comfortable sewing blocks that are cut on the bias. http://www.oddcatstitches.com/2013/09/a-wedding-gift-for-susan.html

Love how bright and cheerful this quilt is. And your points are so crisp!! What a great gift for Susan. Thanks for sharing. :-) :-)
Odd Cat Stitch answered:
Thanks QuiltDude! My husband helps me on alot of my projects (not this one) and it pleases me to no end every time I see another guy out there working on the art!
Pam NZ asked:
Oh WOW Odd Cat! Love this done in the batiks... I love batiks and this pattern is perfect for them. Look at all those beautifully matched seams too! I'm so excited for Susan... she and her new hubby are going to be absolutely thrilled with this quilt... lucky them! As always, love reading the "full" story on your blog, just adds to the specialness :-)
Odd Cat Stitch answered:
Oh Thank yo so much Pam, it is a lovely way to wake up in the morning and have your compliments and encouragement - better than my morning cup of tea (and that is some good stuff, let me tell you!).
NanaJeanFL asked:
Whoohoo! I love this!! The colors are fantastic and you are really brave to sew with those zigzag edges. I especially like the partial blocks around the edges. It gives this quilt a really special look. So nice for such an occasion. I'm sure this will be treasured for years to come :D
Odd Cat Stitch answered:
Thanks very much WasaNewbieJean! the pattern is one of those that looks a whole lot more challenging than it really is, but I love those ones the best because they make you sit back and think, "hey wait a minute here, how did she/he do that?" :D
