Sunshine Baby: Three Mixed-Up Sisters

What are you most proud of? I've been wanting to add Kona solids to yukata cottons in my quilt tops. This is my first example and I think it worked out well. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If this design looks complicated, just work with Joe Cunningham's Three Crazy Sisters improv pattern. If this looks easy, have fun cutting up a feature fabric with some solids to resolve your own version of Three Mixed-Up Sisters.

  • I used one yard of vintage Japanese yukata cotton for the feature fabric and three Kona solids to piece the top. The commercial polkadot fabric for the backing and binding were bought at Drygoods Design in Seattle. The batting is silk.
