Summer Dreamin'

Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Summer Dreamin' Link to website or photo What are you most proud of? How much my grandparents like this quilt! A few years ago my Grandmother gave me a napkin that is exactly the same as one of the prints from this collection (Dream On was inspired by vintage bed linens) so I knew it had to go to them. What advice would you give someone starting this project? It may seem like a lot of fabric to buy for this quilt but you will have quite a bit leftover in the end - actually enough to make a second quilt (if you double the other materials) using the prints that weren't used in the first one.

What you will need

  • Cotton fabric
  • thread

Q&A with Kaye Prince

Jean Alford asked:
Really like this and love pastel fabric. I have a little problem with point lying down smoothly. Have any tips for me or a website for a training session. Thanks for sharing.
Kaye Prince answered:
Hi Jean, this is probably due to the bulk of the seams where they intersect at the point. Try ironing your seams open rather than to one side. You can also trim the seams at the point a little bit. Unfortunately that's just the nature of so many seams intersecting at one point and I don't think there's much more you can do.
