Project Description

What are you most proud of? How people looking at my art can't stop staring wondering "how did she do that?" What advice would you give someone starting this project? Relax and just have fun trying couching, decorative machine stitching and, of course, hand embroidery. Remember, there are no rules and there are no mistakes!

What you will need

  • hand-dyed batik
  • thread
  • yarn
  • rattail cord

Q&A with Carol Ann Waugh

babaj asked:
Love it:) Will have to give it a try. Will you be posting some sort of instructions on how to start?
Carol Ann Waugh answered:
I'm actually going to teach a class in this technique for Craftsy, starting mid December. It's a lot of fun!
Kaydebee asked:
I like the freedom that you express in this piece of art. No rules and no mistakes, gives such a liberating feeling.
Carol Ann Waugh answered:
It is liberating! And, there is no pattern to follow and no plan to make. Each line give the piece more texture and and you decide what to do with color and stitch along the way!
mahlica asked:
Great work!
Carol Ann Waugh answered:
Thank you so much. I get such joy from other people liking my art!
brendajmoore@hotmail.com asked:

Carol Ann Waugh answered:
I have to admit, I'm now a thread-a-holic!
Sunnyjean asked:
I would like to order your Book and threads kit. I haven't been able to pull the craftsy products kit up yet. What am I doing wrong?
Carol Ann Waugh answered:
I'm so sorry! I just saw your comment today. The kit is listed under "Class Materials" on your home page.
