Stitch & Flip Heart

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I'm most proud of myself for just going for it and cutting into fabric without having a concrete idea of what I was going to do next! I was working at night with bad light and accidentally used a couple different shades of "white" when I originally meant to use all the same color background. Instead of ripping apart the ones that were different, I just kept going with it and I love how it turned out! What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you haven't tried improv before, this class is for you! It's different, but sooooo fun to just go with it and reinvent those "mistakes"!

Q&A with Carrie S

Jacquie Gering asked:
Another awesome design using this technique. The versatility is amazing! I also love that you kept the integrity of the background squares throughout the top. The seam lines add another subtle graphic element to the quilt. Great work! Can't wait to see it quilted!
Carrie S answered:
thanks! I would love to hear any ideas you may have about a quilt design? I'm a newbie FMQ, but I'd like to try some FMQ in the heart itself, and maybe some straight lines radiating out from the heart (similar to the super nova in your book). Any ideas from anyone?
