Stitch and Slash

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Making something that coordinates with the blind but is much more fun and individual. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just go with your idea and see what happens - remember Carol's advice "there are no mistakes" :-)

Q&A with LesleyUK

Carol Ann Waugh asked:
Wow. What a fabulous design. You are a true artist. Thanks for sharing!
LesleyUK answered:
Thank you! It's a great class and such a lot of fun when you first start slashing. You are probably immune now but it does make you giggle when you first start slashing fabric - it seems to be the opposite of everything you normally do in sewing!
HappyGenny asked:
Stunning! Love the way you've used the simplest of colours and motifs to create something so visually strong and downright classic. It's simple elegance is fab! I'd love to know which order you layered the fabrics in. Any chance you might tell us? Pretty please? (Chuckles)
LesleyUK answered:
Hi HappyGenny, thank you for your nice comments. The fabric layers were laid down as follows; Chocolate brown, Cream ,Red and then the Coffee brown . I stitched the coffee layer and then flipped over and started slashing.
