Q&A with dkaym

Caroline asked:
Beautiful work! Love those colors too, like fall, my favorite season :)
dkaym answered:
Thank you. I put the details of the fabric on the first posting of the inside, if you'd like to know what I used.. I bought other rolls of th 6" Rowan Kaffe Fassett, now I'm anxious to see what happens with the others.
steelelady asked:
love this quilt, the colors just glow like a sunset, also love that border!! great job, thanks for sharing!!
dkaym answered:
I'm glad you like it. For me it reminds me of the sonoran desert I live in dawn to dusk.
Caroline asked:
What is the name of the fabric line you used on this beautiful quilt? I would like to know, my nephew is getting married this fall, maybe surprise him & his new bride with a quilt with these colors :) That would be awesome !
dkaym answered:
I used a 6" x wof roll from Rowan - Kaffe Fassett Collective called "Earth" the background fabric is from Simple Pleasures, the inner border is from Rowan, Aboraginal Dot 'Terra' and the outer order is Millefiore GP92 brown also Rowan Kaffe Fassett. And I still have about 10" of each of the fabrics on the roll (there were 20 in the collective). Once it's quilted I'll use the same Aboriginal dot for the binding. This is 72"x72" so it's a little short for a queen, but I plan on making a set of ruffled Pillow shams so that should work out for who ever ends up with this one.
bryc asked:
what is the finished dimension of this piece?
