Something Mod for Melissa

What are you most proud of? The original design, quilting and the black fabric "stripe" inserts. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't use too many "stabilizers" under the circle appliqu or cut it out somehow. Getting the machine needle through all those layers caused too many skipped stitches even when I used a "jeans" needle. I took the quilt sandwich apart to cut the remaining stabilizer out before I continued with the quilting.

Q&A with KSM

Dena_Living Water Quilter asked:
VERY NICE!!!. I have been thinking about taking both of these classes. Your project just convinced me. Thanks for the advice with the stabilizer.
KSM answered:
Thanks! Both the design process and the machine quilting were so much fun. Nice to work on a smaller piece to try out the different techniques.
