Q&A with MoniS

Poohbee asked:
This is fabulous, you did a great job
MoniS answered:
I am very pleased with it. It is, however, a gift to the friend who took the inspiration photo. However. he'll have to wait until Chirstmas! :-)
soderbom asked:
is the dark edge between the snow and the ice fabric or paint or thread really beautiful quilt
MoniS answered:
Most of the details and shadows are paint. Fine branches, bushes and pine needles are thread sketched. Thanks!
Dyyan asked:
Stunning, makes we want to try this technique.
MoniS answered:
A combo of Linear Landscape quilts with Gloria Loughman and Painting Pictorial quilts with Annette Kennedy. Highly recommend both courses.
4bird2 asked:
This is beautiful. I"m wondering if you appliqued the trees onto your piece. (There is that detail in the trees that I"m not clear about.
MoniS answered:
I fussy cut the tree canopies from the same fabric I used for the bushes/tree line at the base of the mountains. I raw edged fused those and then I thread sketched as well as painted needles, snow and other details.
Marta949 asked:
Krsna zimn krajinka
MoniS answered:
Wish I knew what this meant! I assume it's positive!
