Project

Small Tote

Project Description

What are you most proud of? How cute they came out and the diversity you can make with very little adjustments! Really fun project. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Grab a charm pack or jelly roll that really excites you and just follow along with the tutorial! One thing, I do use a thin batting for all pieces, even the straps and create "No Baggy Bottoms" with heavy cardboard.

What you will need

  • Moda and Robert Kaufman Cotton Pre Cuts

Q&A with DeGramma

Deena asked:
Instead of the Heavy cardboard, you could use plastic canvas and enclose it in a matching fabric case and it can be taken out when tote is washed. Just a thought.
DeGramma answered:
Thanks for the idea! Did try one, but the bag was too large and needed a heavier bottom, but think it would work great on the smaller totes. ;)
debbiejo asked:
Perfect for me....I am always wanting a tote but don't want the same one over and over...I can have one for the pool, one for my car, one for staying the night with grandkids and one for all my shopping needs, Now i need an idea for a fun, loving tote rack to hang them all on in my backdoor hall way. That will make a nice presentation of all of themtoo. Hmmmmmmmmm......time to get busy, I wondered how I was going to design that long drab hallway to the laundry room and back door..now I know. ty lol
DeGramma answered:
Love your thinking..............I can already see that colorful peg strip in your hallway! LOL
