Scrappy Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I received a long arm quilting machine as a gift from my mother. I have had it together and sitting in my living room for a couple months. I think I was scared to try using it because I didn't want to screw up the quilting. The main fabrics in each quilt was a gift from a co-worker a few years ago so when I look at my finished quilt I will have fond memories of her. I finally loaded up the quilt on my quilting frame and bit the bullet and started quilting. I didn't really know what I wanted to do so I just tried a few things, ripped out and redid until I was happy with what I had. Doing straight lines is difficult for me but I decided to be brave and try. I am happy with how it turned out, I will not be afraid to start the next one. I have 3 finished quilt tops, just have not finished them since it is so hard to quilt a king size with just a regular machine, it is so back breaking. What advice would you give someone starting this project? The quilt block is alot of fun and would recommend it for anyone and any level of sewing. I watched your lesson on this block and loved just how easy you explained everything.

What you will need

  • Assorted quilt fabrics
  • the back is a batik fabric which I also used as the binding
