What advice would you give someone starting this project? scrap quilts have the ability to be someone's connection to the people they love- this quilt is filled with scraps from other quilts in the family, clothes made for grandkids, sometimes thats the best connection to make with a quilt

What you will need

  • cotton fabric
  • poly batting
  • thread

Q&A with qulady

Janette Draper asked:
I saw this pic and thought how much it looks like the pattern of my ceramic tile bathroom floor! lol I had been looking at the floor over the past years thinking it would make a great quilt. Now I have an idea how fun this could actually turn out! Its a great quilt!
qulady answered:
i like that! i have small hex tiles in my bathroom and always think about grandmother's flower garden!! i love the block, though i enlarged it to 8 1/2" block since i was making a queen size quilt!
shazdove asked:
what a beautiful gift, you are a lovely Auntie and a great quilter, the quilt is beautiful
qulady answered:
thanks so much! Ryan sent me fat quarters, so this pattern seemed perfect, it had been years since i did sashing, that did give me pause but i was happy with the result, the quilting is simple, im glad i had some narrow border templates, they worked well, had to get a random heart s & flowers design in there!
wolrah3 asked:
Nice job. Good colors and quilting.
qulady answered:
thank you, i love the colors, though they belong to my niece, who used these colors for her wedding, i did decide on tan rather than white for the sashing, it was a fun to quilt it
