Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo "Reflections" a workshop by Elaine Quehl Link to website or photo equarelle.ca/Reflections.jpg What are you most proud of? That I was able to leave a day-long workshop with a lap-sized quilt top almost completely finished! What advice would you give someone starting this project? No rulers allowed! At first making gentle curves free-hand is a bit intimidating, but you'll get the hang of it before long and then there'll be no stopping you!

What you will need

  • A variety of batiks and home dyed fabrics.

Q&A with Barbism

Dyyan asked:
This just popped right off the screen! Great color combo. I think I'm going to try this.
Barbism answered:
Be careful -they are addictive!
Heather Greene asked:
wow. This is beautiful! How did you sew the curves without it bubbling?
Barbism answered:
You lay the pieces on top of each other, right sides up, and rotary cut gentle curves, free hand. I will try to find the tutorial from American Quilter magazine and post the link. It's a real fun technique.
