Reverse applique baby quilt

What was your inspiration? I haven't quite decided what this quilt will look like yet. Bouncing balls, maybe? Update---no, not bouncing balls. A spiral! I have learned that a eye-catching color scheme can compensate for less-than-perfect workmanship. Where I see the quilting lines that aren't the smooth spirals I'd hoped for, other folks just see the color palette and say "wow."
