Rebekah's bag

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I got better at smaller scale quilting. I used mostly swirling & echo type designs (my favs!) What advice would you give someone starting this project? I used two WOF strips for the handle - I think it's long enough for Rebekah to wear it messenger bag style.

What you will need

  • Kona cottons
  • Isacord thread

Q&A with Darns

K Lee 2Strings asked:
Lovely!! Gorgeous FMQ!
Darns answered:
Thank you, 2strings! I used my favorite designs from Leah's class - lots of swirls & echoes.
NanaJeanFL asked:
Mmm, mmm, mmm - another delicious piece. Your FMQ is outstanding!! I'm sure Rebekah will treasure this for years to come :D
Darns answered:
Thanks, Jean! At least these bags are quicker to get done than a whole quilt. Rebekah seemed pleased with the bag. The strap was long enough so she can wear the bag while riding her bike.
HeatherIsaacson asked:
Well done!
Darns answered:
Thank you, Heather!
sewmom204 asked:
amazing, your choice of different patterns go together so well. Beautiful job!
Darns answered:
Thanks so much! I went with my favorites - love the swirls!
mtclifford asked:
Wow! You do a great job! I'm going to send you my quilt! Problem solved...haha
Darns answered:
Only send me the quilt if you don't mind seeing it for a long, long time! I'm so backed up with stuff to quilt & piece thanks to you & your curved ruler! It was kind of fun to do this dense quilting - couldn't do it on a lap sized quilt or I think the quilt would feel like cardboard.
