Re-Piecing the Past: Civil War Blocks

What are you most proud of? The block I really loved the most was the way the Shiloh Block turned out. It's my favorite in the quilt and I would like to make a whole quilt with just this block alternating blank blocks. MOST proud of the Julia Ward Howe Block...it's probably THE most difficult block I have made to date. And being patient and watching the video several times I was surprised I was able to put that many little pieces together to make this stunning block. What advice would you give someone starting this project? DO IT!!! It may look hard, you might be unsure if you are at a skill level to finish this quilt. DO IT!!! You will be amazed at how nice and easy this quilt goes together!! Also get the Nifty Notions rulers. I was lucky enough to have learned on them, and my local quilt shop carries them exclusively. There is a small learning curve, however after you get it under your belt, you will be amazed at how accurate, quick, and easy cutting out your quilt is...not to mention the fabric savings from using them.
