I think your topiary pattern is either confusing or has errors. I'm guessing a precut jelly roll is being used and is only 2.5" and if so, then how does the block finish at what size?
Amanda Murphy answered:
You are talking about the free Topiary pattern out there on the Craftsy marketplace, correct? If so it uses both a jelly roll and layer cake. The 2-1/2" strips are pieced into the 10" squares of fabric to yield squares that are 11-1/2". Those squares then get pieced into the quilt and finish at 11''. As for the jelly roll pieces that are used for each block, they are all (2-1/2") in width but are 3", 7", and 11-1/2" in length. If you have anymore questions you can email me at email@example.com. When I log into the platform I do see questions about the class, but I don't see photo comments unless I happen to go to that section, so you'll get a more immediate reply by emailing me. I hope this helps! Amanda
