Quilter's Scrapbook

Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Quilter's Scrapbook pattern on Craftsy Link to website or photo www.craftsy.com/pattern/quilting/home-decor/quilters-scrapbook/82967 What are you most proud of? Using up all those scraps! Also designing the sashing and pieced borders. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have fun with the colors. Piece your 100-patch blocks first, then choose sashing and border colors that will play well with them. Also, you could substitute different block designs for the 100 patch. Any 8" block with 1" scrappy borders would come up to the needed block size.

Q&A with canuckquilter

Mama Von asked:
Beautiful! What a great way to use all the scraps we all have. Great borders and sashing.
canuckquilter answered:
Thank you! I had a lot of fun playing with the scraps, and the border and sashing came together very quickly to frame everything.
MamaThadeus asked:
It's a beautiful quilt. My eye wants to find pixilated pictures in the 100-patch blocks. Your sashing sets them off beautifully and allows the eye to rest in between all those popping color stories.
canuckquilter answered:
Thank you. When I started I really wasn't sure how all those very varied scraps would come together, but I tried very hard to pair them randomly and not overthink things. It worked out quite well. The sashing was definitely planned to calm everything down!
