Q&A with Ladymax

QuiltDude asked:
I really like this! The warm medium gray for the shadow realky makes the floating effect work. You did a great job, and I really love the pieced back, too. It's like a continuation of the front. I hope you had fun doing this! I appreciate the "shout out", Ladymax. Thanks for sharing. :-) :-) :-)
Ladymax answered:
Many thanks for your kind remarks. They really mean something coming from you. I am currently working very hard to use up a lot of my scraps and this is a great pattern for this. I am hoping that my next will be pink.
Smartredhead04 asked:
This is a GREAT quilt pattern and your color choices really make the optical illusion pop. Where did you get the pattern? I suspect from the QuiltDude but is the pattern available on Craftsy?
Ladymax answered:
QuiltDude did a quilt that I feel in love with, and he posted directions with his picture. I followed the instructions and it worked out so well I made two of them.
deedy.rose asked:
Very nice, but I cannot find this pattern!

I checked with QuiltDude's project and found that if you go to youtube and enter Illusion Block Quilt, Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company has a tutorial for this quilt. Go for it!!!!

Thanks! I found and watched it and got overall technique. I am taking a class from Jennie in November when she travels to this area. Should be lots of fun! Happy quilting to you!
