Quilt Diva

Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Quilt Diva Link to website or photo www.amybradleydesigns.com/abd170.html What are you most proud of? The way she turned out and how real she looks. She outlandish clothing speaks of a quilting personality I have seen quite bit. I am proud of all the embellishments I was able to find and bring this quilt to life. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have fun, take your time and think about what you really want this quilt to say for you.

What you will need

  • Cotton for background
  • face
  • clothes
  • legs
  • arms
  • suitcase and bag. For hair I used doll hair
  • the tape measure in her hair was a piece of cloth designed as a measuring tape found in a scrapbook store. The scissors were made by me using two layers of silver fabric layered with batting. Her earrings where earrings my Mother-In-Law wore. I picked them because this Quilt Diva reminds me of my Mother-in-Law. She did not quilt but she did do a lot of sewing. The Diva had a necklace but I decided to leave it out. The purple vest has a bow measuring tape on one pocket and a scissors button on the other pocket. The suitcase on wheels has a real zipper in it with fabric inside that has sewing items on it. Her shawl is made of patchwork cloth and the skirt is the most ridiculous fabric for a skirt I could find. And lastly her socks are made of green polka dot farbric and the slippers were made from ribbon of fluff that I sewed on in a circle. The pink area at the bottom (where the fabric is loose)with the name "Quilt Diva" on it has since been fixed.
