Quilt back

What are you most proud of? I'm very proud of how this turned out. This is my first quilt as well as it being a gift. I want it to last my nephew a lifetime. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make your quilt back have some of the energy of the quilt top. Reversible is good!

Q&A with MsDuane

SunnyB asked:
Love it! I'm sure he'll treasure it. This is your first quilt?! Did you do the quilting yourself?
MsDuane answered:
Thank you. Yup, this is my first quilt. I had it quilted at the local quilt shop here in Jacksonville. My first attempts at free motion quilting were just too sad. I didn't want to ruin it so I paid to have it done. :)
Linda F S asked:
I love the quilt back. I too quilt by check.
MsDuane answered:
Money well spent!
ruth.coat6844210 asked:
Hi how do you fig out the amount for the backing I need queen size
MsDuane answered:
I used five or six yards of fabric to quilt a slightly larger than queen sized quilt. I split the yardage in two in order to get the backing wide enough. I hope that helps. Good luck!
