QAYG blocks

Project Description

What are you most proud of? that i returned to my quilting "roots" - QAYG is the first thing i ever did and i love it - it is really "me" - so glad i got back into it - i love to use scraps to do things with ease and big bang for my investment of time and effort - and this is so "it" for me - love it! thx, tara! What advice would you give someone starting this project? relax, have fun, be flexible, be spontaneous, use scraps, be wonky, and plans & perfection be damned! it's so much fun if you want to be loose and scrappy & get instant gratification from immediate quilted pieces!

What you will need

  • quilting cotton scraps
  • batting
  • Gutterman cotton thread

Q&A with jodydeschenes

designsbysusank asked:
LOVE IT! How did you join the blocks together? How does the back look?
jodydeschenes answered:
ugh, just wrote a long response but lost it when i went to look for the tutorial - so, there are many ways to join together, here is one: http://www.sewwequilt.com/2011/03/quilt-as-you-go-qayg.html not the best part of this process, a little tedious and takes some practice to do it neatly (i guess), so kind of the stick in the spokes for QAYG blocks, in my opinion, but i can't help myself, i love to make them! wish i had already done it so i could share my experience, but i am obviously dragging my feet on tackling it!
