Puny the artsy Goat

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Two things. One being able to use fabrics with patterns to create the goat and articulating colors and shading. Second my quilting done on my Bernina. If someone was going to pay me to design the quilt I wanted to ensure quality quilting. I realized ,y best bet for consistent stitching was to slow down my speed. What a difference. Though I am not the most patient personI saw the benefits. . What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take art classes from different teachers. Find and develop the technique that works for you. I have taken classes with David Taylor, Grace Errera, Phyllis Brinkley, and Craftsy online class pictorial quilting by Wendy Butler Burns. All of these teachers and techniques have added to my wisdom and given me gumption to try new things and push myself.

What you will need

  • I used cotton fabrics for the goat and silk for the background. The silk was sheer and fragil. I had to be very careful on quilting it because it wouldn't sustain tearing out stitches.
