Q&A with MrsKatieWW

dddkeever9602797 asked:
Is there A pattern for the Prairie Twilight lap quilt shown above. If so how do I get the pattern. Love the quilt.
MrsKatieWW answered:
No pattern. I cherry picked my favourite prints out of two jelly roll packs from this colour line and one jelly roll pack of solids in the same colour scheme-also purchased from Craftsy. Sorted them into colour categories ie, black through dark brown, dark blue through grey, medium brown through tan, tan into lightest cream in sets of six shades. Sewed the six strips lengthwise and cut the six strip piece 6.5 inches achieving as many blocks as WOF would allow. Repeated that process for each colour category. Then paired a light block to a dark block so that one side went from dark to light and the other block went light to dark. Matched up the pairs and sewed five of these paired blocks into a row turning every other block in opposite direction. Did the same for four more rows alternating the pattern. Then selected 8 cream coloured jelly roll strips from my stash. Sewed them on as a border. Then picked eight blue strips from the twilight jelly roll and sewed them on as the second border. Used 3.5 yards of one of the brown prints from this fabrics line and used the scrap pieces of this backing fabric to bind. I think the whole project measures 60x60. I also used embroidery thread King Tut for top stitching and embroidered some of the details. I hope that helps you with how it was done.
