Pink Floating Blocks

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I was able to take ideas learned from Pepper Cory's course and QuiltDude's pattern which I love and make a unique quilt. I hope QuiltDude does not object. What advice would you give someone starting this project? You do not always have to follow a pattern exactly. Put your own spin on it.

What you will need

  • 100% cotton scraps and batting

Q&A with Ladymax

NanaJeanFL asked:
Oh Ladymax! I love your floating blocks! I especially like the offset. Great use of scraps. QuiltDude and I bought the same pattern. His version inspired me to use the 3D sashing for last year's BOM. I just finished putting the blocks together but have yet to post. Now there are 3 of us floaters (that I know of) :D
Ladymax answered:
What a great group we make. I can't wait to see your version.
QuiltDude asked:
I do not object at all. On the contrary, I am honored, and impressed, and excited that you took inspiration from my project and put your own spin on it. This looks great, Ladymax! I think you have the "trick" of getting the shadow effect down pat. This is perfect for a young lady, the colors are so feminine and go so well. Great job! And Jean, please hurry and post your project! LOL I would love to see what your version looks like. I will be on the lookout! The Floaters' Club. I like that!
Ladymax answered:
Yah, Floaters Club. Many thanks QuiltDude, I was afraid that I had overstepped first by copying your design and second by making changes. I really love this design and it is so quick. I am sure my preemies parents are loving them. Many thanks again for sharing.
