Project Description

What are you most proud of? Quilting done! Did not stop although many things went wrong, including quilting grey quilt with blue thread because I had no grey one at first. It will be used. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Enroll the course and just quilt on :) You know, like keep calm and carry on :) Start with contrasting thread first. About 1/4 inch circles in matching thread... are almost invisible when quilting... I just drew a line on the sandwich withe nearest pen and then closed it in a rectangele. I would draw the rectangle first next time. It made it feel like paper practcing and forced me deal with corners.

What you will need

  • cotton
  • batting
  • thread
  • course inspiration - Angela Walters quilting and advice

Wonderful job, I love the designs you picked for the piece.
Ralitza answered:
Thank you! It is a cushion for this quilt: http://bonbon-boutique.eu/latest-quilt-project . The woodgrain pattern was the perfect match to the wayvy quilting in it, the bubbles and swirls - the perfect contrast to practice.

Wow, wow, wow. This is fabulous. Love the wood grain. Sadly I can't seem to get my head around the woodgrain design but you have it down. Great job.
Ralitza answered:
Thank you! Do try it out. It is complementing the wavy quilting on the quilt the cushion will be used with. I was a little uncertain as the space is really narrow, but it looks lovely and I think it will only get better with more irregularity in the pattern.
